Observation Room

Mindfacts offers the possibility to observe the test session via a live audio-visual connection. Our observation room provides seating for up to 8 persons.
Our clients have different observation and presentation possibilities:

  • Video projector and screen
  • Flat screen
  • Flipchart
  • Notice board
  • Interaction possibility via the Morae Observer
Our test rooms offer high speed internet access (WLAN).

Observe the test sessions live

The synchronised test scenario in best picture- and sound quality is transferred to the screens or monitors of the observation room. The user-experience-scenarios contain sound, browser and screen activities of the test person, mouse highlighting and eye tracking - all in real time.

The picture-in-picture technology makes it possible to observe the facial expressions and gestures of the test person. You can see the complete interview situation (workstation, test person, moderator) on a flat screen if you wish.

The observers can interact directly via the Morae Observer. Feel free to comment on scenes and situations via event logging. All your notes get saved together with the recording and are available for later re-work at the specific position of the recording.

Combine observation and workshop!

Mindfacts made a conscious decision not to offer a one-way mirror between observation room and usability lab.
This gives us the advantage to have a lot of light in the observation room. Remote viewers can have a discussion without fearing to disturb the test session and without sitting in darkness.

The observers can discuss the interview in a workshop at the time of the test session. Our high quality audio and video technology (cameras and microphones) makes it possible to be part of the test session without interfering with the on going interview.

Up to 8 members of staff of the client or external service providers can follow the test session and discuss it. Between interviews, they can get a feedback from the moderator.

For surveys of focus groups or panels of experts, we can inverse the direction of observation. This way, you can see what is going on in the adjacent usability lab.
